JUNIOR Champions

Fair Oak has produced some top junior players who are either national champions or knocking on the door of national squad selection.  These are;

Kyle Finch

Kyle started off at Fair Oak as a very young junior whose potential was clear to see early on. Kyle progressed quickly under the guidance and tuition of his Dad Paul Finch and Elite coach Tim Vail. Kyle won many titles in most age groups leading up his British U19 title in 2016. Kyle was a regular 1st team player at Fair Oak and after a brief spell as a professional player, reaching the top 100 players in the world, he then chose to concentrate on another career but has still played for the club first team when he was available.

Tom Walsh

Tom has played for Fair Oak 1st team since 2014 and although he lives in the Brighton area, he is often seen training at Fair Oak. Tom won the British U19 title in 2017. In September 2023, he was ranked world number 73.

Alex Broadbridge

Alex is our youngest champion who won the British U11 title for 2017. In 2022, he was in the England under 19 squad for the European Championships (despite being just 15). In 2023, he won the England under 17 championship and in October that year, was ranked 617 in the world. He has played in international competitions, travelling to Australia for the closed competition there.

Fair Oak also has had other national ranked players who represent their county and many who have represented the South Region. We regularly have players in the local Grand Prix events and feed players into the County development squads.

Fair Oak has produced some very good players throughout it's history with names like England team player Martin Shaw who played for our club throughout the 70 & 80's. Scottish international Alisdair Taylor and many others have placed Fair Oak firmly on the map as a top squash club.
